All things music
Okay, let's answer the obvious question first: Why country music? Well, to be honest, at one time I asbolutely hated Country music. When the movie, "Urban Cowboy" came out, I was living in Houston, TX. Those people carried that whole Country thing a bit too far. I would actually meet people who had thick NY accents, wearing torn jeans and driving a `77 Chevy Monte Carlo. No lie... A week later I would see that same guy in boot-cut jeans, a Cowboy hat and boots, sporting a big `ol belt buckle and driving a Ford "pick-em up" truck, complete with a shotgun rack on the rear window. Okay, I could deal with all this. But where in God's green earth did he get that serious Texas drawl and have the nerve to call me a Yankee? Oh, I hated Country. Even hearing the word, I wanted to run... and run fast.
My mother would tell me that I was singing before I was talking. My sister has even told me that, to this day, I actually sing in my sleep! My first real stint with singing for an audience started when I was about 10, as a member of the church choir. Still, my roots are in Classic Rock; from the Beatles invasion, in 1964, all the way to the death of Led Zepplin, in 1983. It was in the mid 1970s... Steve Perry... Journey... Wheel in the Sky. My God, that man could sing. Guess what I discovered? He was classically trained in Opera. From that moment on, all tolled, I have studied voice for almost 14 years, with the intent on singing lead for some sort of super Rock band.
About 7 years ago, I got my "big break" and actually got a job doing what I love: singing. Every Wednesday and every other Tuesday at a serious Jazz and Blues club in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I was now a professional singer, singing Jazz and Blues. This lasted for a few months.
My pseudo brother, Scott, talked me into going to a Scaryoke night at a bar he frequented. On Thursday nights, they hosted something called, "Kamikaze Kareoke." They call your name to sing and you have no clue what you are going to sing until it starts playing. By the end of the night, I had sung well over a dozen songs. Outside, by the car, Scott looked at me and simply said, "You nailed every song that asked you to do. But, like it or not... You're a Country girl." Two weeks later, I somehow ended up going with a few friends to a huge C&W bar and actually started listening to a Country Rock band that was absolutely amazing. I managed to talk my way up on stage to sing a single song and ended up there for the entire 90 minute set. A week later, I was a full-time member of the band. A few months after that, we changed our name to "Cheyenne."
I've always loved music and singing, but I've never known as much love, passion and fun as I have known from doing Country. Attitudes and professionalism are far superior... it's all about having fun and the love of the music.

Hey, I do other stuff too!
You could say that I am into almost anything: Scuba to skydiving; movies & travel (I do allot of both); perfectly at home at a country BBQ bash or an elegant black tie affair. I actually love sports, baseball is my favorite. I can even tell you how to calculate the NFL QB rating thing. And to the guys who seem to think women can't throw a baseball ... I have a hellacious curveball! I may have many various talents and interests, but, don't you dare try to tell me anything about cars, especially engines. Why? Because I have no clue... I don't know and don't want to know. When I turn the key and my car doesn't start, by simply saying, "Honey, what's wrong with my car?" usually gets it fixed. As of late, beyond my music interests, is the California Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Casa de Fruta: I've been working the major Ren Faires for several years... it's sort of cool, I get to portray the role of an Irish princess, who happened to have been my 13th Great-grandmother. After-hours at those faires are a blast! Then there is my current project: a new band. I've recently relocated to San Jacinto, CA ... let's see where that leads me. The, there is the dealing with family drama and trying to have fun at the same time. No problem, I could have fun at a tax audit!
My three biggest passions of all are: 1) my children... that goes without saying... 2) My love of animals: I've even dreams of starting a horse ranch sometime soon. 3) I LOVE to sing. In fact, I've been told that when I talk, I sound allot like Lauren Bacall, but when I sing: Shania twain, Nancy Wilson (Heart) and Stevie Nicks are the people to whom I have been compared. One of my songs won the #1 country song of 2002. In 2003, I had two songs in the top 10. One song finished at #2, the other finsihed at # 4.

Still, although my interests vary, I do not tolerate ill-mannered little boys who think, because they are 36-years-old, they are a man. I prefer men that actually know the meaning of the term, "Gentleman" without needing to consult Webster's first. And guys, I don't do pic exchanges, cyber, phone, web cams or any other illicit nonsense. I've no desire to satiate the testosterone crazed crowd, nor do I have the time to deal with little boys that cannot control their libidoes. I've never been that desperate... Trust me, should I ever desire it, I have no problems acquiring live company!
Brains too?
Okay, by now you should have determined that I am, at least, reasonably attractive; articulate; somewhat talented; feisty and spirited, with a comical and yet positive approach towards life. But would you believe that I have a few pretty good brain cells too? Currently, I hold a Master's degree in Psychobiology and am dangerously close to attaining my Ph.D. in Neuroscience. My field of specialty? Human sexuality and fetal development. Although I may not be fluent in any language ... sometimes I wonder if that includes English ... I am fully capable of ordering dinner, finding the bathrooms and getting in trouble in 8 different languages. Hmmm... I wonder how many decent, available men reading this are saying to themselves, "If she can cook too, she's perfect for me!" Well, guys, I can also cook up a storm: French, Italian, Mediteranean, Polish, German, Spanish, Morrocan, Mexican, Tex-Mex, Japanese, English and I make a killer Irish Stew.
